While the cat's awayContin, near Inverness, Jun 26, 2005 We had two Wheelers on the podium at the Scottish Cross Country Championships in Contin this weekend. Ryan Fenwick won the Under 16 fun race. Sally Warner was 2nd in juvenile female; she should be Scottish Champion but this has to be confirmed. She completed the course despite having a fall and tweaking her ankle. In youth male Liam was 6th; in juvenile male Keith was 5th; Angus Lawrie was 8th despite having to stop twice to blow up a deflating tyre. Ross Green came in 4th Under 16 fun and Steve Warner was 17th in "fun" male suffering from jelly leg on the first fire road climb, which wasn't as steep or long as the other tracks so no excuse there. The course was tough but ridable with a lot of technical singetrack some fireroad sections and some lovely oldskool singletrack sections which were fast fun and grippy - the best yet of the series.
