Results for 25km British Marathon Championship (Sunday)

(Excellent results as about 100 riders in the race).

Travelled down early on the Friday morning to allow for pre riding. Tents pitched and pasta cooked. Great weather. Needed plenty suncream. All three raced well under the hot and tiring heat. Youths race was 3 laps and Juvenile was 2 laps. Ryan had a fast first 2 laps but tired on lap 3. Ross rode a steady race all the way through. Jenna stepped up to the challenge of having to do 2 laps and coped well. The course was hilly but not too technical. A welcome water crossing cooled the legs during the race. Riders had to watch out for the deer that roamed freely round the park.

We stayed on for the marathon champs on the Sunday which had over 500 riders on the course at once – four distances 25km, 50km, 75km and 100km. The 25km race was the last to set off and they had to work their way through the traffic. All in all a great weekend of racing and sunbathing!
