Jenna's Sherwood TaleNottingham, 14-Apr-2009 Ryan, Ross and Richard ARE amoung this big bunch NPS Round 1 - Sherwood Pines - April 2009 By Jenna Fenwick I travelled down to Nottingham with my family to take part in the first NPS race of 2009. Felt a bit scared as there was a big turnout of people. Lots of people taking part and lots of people watching. Dad and I went round the course on the Saturday and I quite liked it even though it was flat. Juveniles usually do only 1 lap of the course but it was decided that we had to do 2 laps. Raced on Sunday at 10am. It was a really nice warmish day. Felt really VERY nervous as I waited on my turn to line up. Ross, Ryan and Richard were away before me. They were in the Youths race and they had to do 3 laps of the course. I got a good start and had no problems. Even managed to get my gel from Mum for lap 2 without dropping it! Wasn't sure where I finished because there are so many riders on the course at the same time but was delighted to get third. My first NPS podium!!!!! I think the 2 laps suited me! The boys did well too. All of them were in their first NPS Youth race. Ryan was 10th and he had to stop after lap 1 and sort his seat as it had fallen down! Ross had no problems and was 19th and Richard also had a good race and finished 24th. PS I didn't see Robin Hood as I was whizzing round! More PicturesEnds. | [NITF] |
