SXC FORT WILLIAM 2008Fort William, Lochaber, 28-Jul-2008 Morgan and Rory (like the glasses) SXC FORT WILLIAM The Stewartry Wheelers had several cyclists participating in round 5 of the SXC Series held at Fort William at the weekend. The course was very dry with a few wet soft patches. There was a good mixture of technical and climbing paths taking in some of those used in the World Championships held earlier this year at the same venue. The club had 5 riders in the Juvenile race with Ryan Fenwick and Ross Green taking 1st and 2nd places respectively. Morgan McConnell finished in 5th having to run the last few yards as he punctured on the last descent near the end. Rory Bruton finished in 9th position. Jenna Fenwick managed to take 4th place in the female race. Other club members Paul Crotty finished the Veterans race in 15th position and Jason Sinden finished the Masters race in 8th both doing 4 laps of the course. Bruce McCleary was 5th in the Elite category. In the Primary races Adam Hughes did well to win the P6/7 race and Jenna Fenwick was 2nd in her P6/7 race. More PicturesEnds. | [NITF] |
