Laggan 2008Laggan MTB Wolftrax, Apr 13, 2008 Young lions at the start WHEELERS AT LAGGAN On Sunday 6th April the Stewartry Wheelers had a good turnout of young riders at round 1 of the Scottish Cross Country Series. This was held at Laggan and we were all surprised to find quite a lot of snow on race day. The club had four Juvenile riders and we were pleased to come away with two medals - gold for Ryan Fenwick and a bronze for Richard Scales. This was Richard's first SXC podium finish. Ross Green had a sprint finish to take 5th position and Rory Bruton rode a steady race to take 9th position. This was Rory's first race in this category. Murdo Bruton has stepped up to the Youth category this year and was riding well but had to stop after his second lap, as he had mechanical problems. Keith Riddick, who is now riding in the Junior category had no problems and finished 5th after a 5 lap race. Jenna Fenwick took part in the under 16's fun run and despite one or two falls managed to finish 3rd. Adam Hughes, who is now racing in the P6/7 section had a very close race and was delighted to win his first SXC of the 2008 season. Well done to all our young riders. More Pictures
